Warrior-ess camp provides full weekend of fun!

South Florida's first Women's Only hockey camp
provided participants with a weekend full of events
and activities. The program began with the ladies
lacing up their skates Friday night for an hour of on
ice instruction. Then it was off to dinner where the
participants were able to meet and mingle. Saturday
saw a full day of events beginning with a
"non-competitive" game of touch football followed by
a quick trip to the Perfect Competition Gym where an
hour and a half workout was enjoyed. Then all
trooped off to the Professional Hockey Institute for an
hours skate before heading off to lunch. That was
followed by a chalk talk, then back to the ice to finish
the day. The players then met at the Casa Blanca
Café where they dined in high style on Fort
Lauderdale's Beach front. After a wonderful meal
everyone was tired and ready for a early turn in to
rest up for the next day to come. Sunday turned out
to be the equivalent of iron woman hockey with teams
playing 4 -15 minute games of hockey. It was fast
paced and the improved skill of the players was very
obvious. In the end the bodies were a bit sore, the
energy a bit drained but the smiles were bright and
new friendships were made all around.
